Avila College is
located in the central part of the United States in a safe and beautiful section of Kansas
City. Small classes ensure that students receive personal attention and help from
instructors. A small shopping mall is within walking distance of the campus. Kansas City
has many museums, shopping malls and amusement parks as well as an airport. The ESL
program assists international students with every area of English: speaking and listening,
pronunciation, idioms, reading and vocabulary, grammar and writing. There is also a
culture class which teaches students about U.S. culture as well as celebrates U.S.
holidays and takes field trips...

University, founded in 1818 is one of the oldest Catholic universities in America
enrolling over 11,000 students. There are over 800 international students from more than
90 countries currently enrolled at the University. The Orientation USA program offers
intensive English instruction taught by experienced instructors, and has been in existence
for over 30 years. Intensive training in business English and terminology as well as
American business culture also is offered for international professionals...

Applied Languge Institute

The Applied
Language Institute is a joint program of the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the
Metropolitan Community Colleges. Intensive English is held at Penn Valley and Academic
English at UMKC. Penn Valley is fully accredited and offers more than 50 occupational
programs. UMKC is a Carnegie doctoral level I institution with over 10,000 students
pursuing more than 125 degree options. In addition to our regular academic semesters, we
offer special short-term programs for visitors to the U.S. The ESL program is designed for
students whose goal is to learn English for academic, business or personal reasons.
Classes are available at the basic, beginning, intermediate and advanced levels...
