Central Piedmont
Community College is the largest community college in North Carolina, and offers over 110
academic programs. Its two-year college transfer degree is accepted at all the
universities in the North Carolina system. Charlotte is located close to Atlanta, Georgia,
and within a day's drive of Washington, D.C. Nearby are the Appalachian Mountains and the
Atlantic Ocean. Approximately 150 students from about 100 different countries enroll in
Academic ESL classes at CPCC. Within this program, established in 1974, no one language
group is significantly larger than the rest; this offers a greater possibility to practice

comprehensive range of graduate and undergraduate degree programs. The MBA program,
