Since 1857,
Illinois State University has grown to be one of Illinois' largest public universities
with five colleges - Applied Science and Technology; Arts and Sciences; Business;
Education; and Fine Arts. Illinois State University includes about 20,000 students, more
than 300 international students from more than 50 countries, and more than 1,000 faculty
members. Our Intensive English Program focuses on practical learning and special needs of
adult language learners. Every ELI student is automatically enrolled in the Intensive
English Program. The English Language Institute uses a communicative approach that teaches

Lake Forest
Academy (LFA) is located on a wooded 200-acre campus. LFA is a four-year coeducational
boarding school with a rigorous academic program offering a high school diploma. LFA
accepts ALA students based on: successful completion of ALA Level 5, completed LFA
application, transcript of the last three years of school, 500+ TOEFL score and ALA
recommendation. ALA students may audit up to two LFA courses while completing the ALA
program (only Level 3 or above)... 
Although Loyola
is a large, metropolitan university in Chicago, the ESL Program is located on the
Mallinckrodt Campus in the tranquil suburb of Wilmette. Just north of the city,
Mallinckrodt offers a quiet and concentrated atmosphere of study in a beautiful, wooded
environment - but it's only minutes (by free shuttle bus) from student residence halls
overlooking Lake Michigan at Loyola's Lake Shore Campus. This is a small, serious,
intensive English program focused on developing advanced language skills. Our students
include those who intend to enter U.S. universities, as well as professionals who need
real English proficiency for business purposes. Small classes, individual attention,
professional instructors, and a carefully planned curriculum make this possible... 
MacCormac
College is a two-year college that prepares students for both a career and to further
their education. The college serves the individual with small classes, condensed class
schedules, part-time job placement, supervised internships, full-time faculty, practical
educational programs in a personal and supportive environment. The English as a Second
Language Division provides intensive English instruction designed to prepare students
whose first language is not English for the pursuit of college studies. Thousands of
foreign students from more than 40 countries have attended the English as a Second
